Step 1: Park the car on a clean, level surface and engage the parking brake.
Step 2: Lift the rear of the car until you have space to work comfortably. Place the jack stands underneath the car's solid frame.
Step 3: Locate the fuel filter's metal line and remove it using a wrench. Watch out for fuel leaking when removing the metal line.
Step 4: Check the current fuel accumulator located across the fuel filter. The accumulator is held by a retaining strap. Unbolt the strap using the socket with extension arm. Pull the accumulator loose and you will see there are pressure lines attached to it and some insulators as well.
Step 5: Disconnect the current fuel accumulator from the pressure lines. Beware; fuel might spray while performing this. Remove the fittings on the accumulator because it will be attached to the new one.
Step 6: Take the new fuel accumulator and attach the fittings and the insulators from the old one.
Step 7: Place the new filter in place of the old one and reconnect the pressure lines. Reattach the metal line from the fuel filter as well but don't tighten the connection yet.
Step 8: Reattach the retaining straps and begin to tighten the fuel lines afterwards.
Step 9: Disengage the vehicle from the jack stand.
Step 10: Turn on the engine and check for any fuel leaks. Make the adjustments if necessary.
